Rome. Ancient city of opulent splendour, city of contrasts. The following thoughts remind me of Rome. Poor immigrants selling leather handbags, fascinating architecture, tourist exploitation, cobbled streets and shady alleyways, edible chestnuts, religious icons, graffiti, ancient ruins, interesting parking solutions, Roman remains, scooters and tiny cars, aquaducts, water fountains, cathedrals, sunglasses in winter, ornate statues, coffee shops, beggars with dogs, carabinieri, gelati, ice cream, nuns on bicycles, sculptures, dark hair and conservative clothing
